We are Growers!

Our growing area covers over 100 acres, including the South Branch in Howard County and the North Branch in Carroll County. Sun Nurseries grows and sells at our South Branch Farm at 14790 Bushy Park Rd, Woodbine, Maryland.

Although not accessible to the public, most of our larger plants are grown a few miles up the road at our North Branch Farm in Carroll County.

We believe that locally grown plants, produced with real soil in the mix, provide the best plants for your landscape and garden. Such plants are sturdy, more drought-tolerant, and have a higher survival rate. As a result, our 2,500 varieties and sizes of plants and trees are already acclimated to local conditions.

We have a nursery center where you can purchase products you may need to help you succeed with your landscape and garden, including:

In our nursery center, we also have a selection of tropical plants available year-round. We are committed to helping you have the landscape or garden of your dreams. So, if you don’t see it please ask, we may be able to find what you require or be able to offer an acceptable substitution.

Tips When Visiting the Nursery

We want your trip to the nursery to be enjoyable and productive, so we’ve compiled these helpful tips:

  • Wear sneakers or very comfortable shoes. The nursery is easily walkable and wheelchair accessible, and you might want to spend the whole day here!
  • Bring a plant list, photos, magazine clippings, drawings, measurements, or other ideas you have for planning your garden. The more we know about what you like, the easier it will be to recommend plants and materials.
  • If you’re planning to have us install or deliver your plant material, check our service area map to make sure you’re within our landscaping and delivery area.
  • Water and soft drinks may be purchased at vending machines inside the nursery center.
  • Information on our discounts, warranty, and return policy.
