Our retail store in Woodbine, MD, is open 7 days a week, March through December. (From the last week in December until the last week in February, the nursery is open Monday through Friday only.) The expansive 20-acre site hosts a huge plant display area, garden supply store, and hard goods loading area.

PRODUCTS

Our selection of plants is amazing: Ornamental, Shade, and Fruit Trees; Shrubs, Conifers, Broadleaf Evergreens, Hollies, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Japanese Maples, Perennials, Grasses ... With over 2,500 varieties and sizes to choose from, we're bound to have the perfect plants for your individual landscaping needs.

While our plant selection is legendary, our garden center offerings are perhaps our best-kept secret. We carry annuals, mums, and poinsettias to provide beautiful seasonal color. Beautiful pots from Campania and International Pottery, stunning Massarelli cast stone, Brass Baron sculptures, and Stone Age benches and sculptures are the highlights of our huge selection of decorative items. We also carry a full line of Ortho products, deer repellents, fertilizers, watering & irrigation supplies, gardening gloves, books, seasonal items, and more. Bagged materials (mulch, stone, soil amendments, etc.) can be loaded directly into your vehicle for you.

SKETCH SERVICE

Sketches are available Monday - Saturday 9 am - 4 pm,
and Sunday 10 am - 4 pm.

Our sketch service is intended for customers who want plant and layout suggestions for a weekend do-it-yourself project. If you have a small area and need a quick idea of what to do, a fast hand sketch can be helpful.

In order to provide you with an accurate and useful planting plan, we ask that you gather the following information for the designer before you ask for a sketch:

• The measurements of the area in feet (i.e., 2.75 ft. or 2' 8")
• A north arrow to indicate sun direction
• Height of the windows off the ground
• Location and height of any lamp posts, walls, walks, or any other hardscape elements
• Pictures are helpful but not required.

If you'd like to save time by having the designer sketch the layout directly over your drawing, please use 1/8" = 1' scale. Otherwise, the sketch must be redrawn.

Due to time constraints and volume of customers, we must limit our sketch service to a small area or one side of the house.

FAXED QUOTES

If you would like to check cost and availability on a list of plants, fax us the list (410-489-9578) and include your return fax number. We'll get back to you with a quote and let you know if any items are unavailable before you make the trip to the nursery.

VOLUME DISCOUNTS

Any cumulative net purchases of $1,000.00 or more within one season (6 months from the date of the first purchase) receive a 5% discount off all net purchases. Net purchases of $2,000.00 or more receive a 10% discount. Customers must present all original invoices to receive the discount. Only one type of discount is allowed per invoice.

Volume discounts do NOT apply to wholesale purchases or installations.

WARRANTY

If you are not certain if a plant is dead or not, please bring in a picture, branch, stem, or small section for us to check. PLEASE CONTAIN YOUR PLANT SAMPLE IN A SEALED PLASTIC BAG. (Some plant problems, such as crown gall, can infect other plants. Please help us keep our nursery stock healthy by bagging plant samples.) To keep your plant healthy, follow our watering instructions and plant care recommendations.

Plant material that is planted by our customers receives our full year, half price warranty. If the plant dies within a year, bring it back to us (for large plants, just bring the top 3 feet), and we'll give you 50% credit toward something new. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ORIGINAL RECEIPT.

Plant material installed by Sun Nurseries receives our full year, one time, 100% replacement warranty. If an installed plant dies, please call the nursery to arrange for replacement. Replacement plant material is installed in a timely manner, in coordination with our existing installation schedule.

Annuals, bulbs, indoor plants, plants kept in containers, and items purchased with a wholesale discount do not receive our warranty.

RETURNS

Plant material is not returnable due to the potential for off-site contamination. Hard goods are returnable within 30 days of purchase with the original receipt.

SHOPPING TIPS

We want your trip to the nursery to be enjoyable and productive, so we've compiled these helpful tips:

• Wear sneakers or very comfortable shoes. The nursery is easily walkable and wheelchair accessible, but you might want to spend the whole day here!
• Bring a plant list, photos, magazine clippings, drawings, measurements, or other ideas you have for planning your garden. The more we know about what you like, the easier it will be to recommend plants and materials.
• If you're planning to have us install or deliver your plant material, check our service area map (or give us a call) to make sure you're within our landscaping and delivery area.
• Take advantage of our free faxed quote service. (See info above.)
• Water and soft drinks may be purchased at vending machines inside the store.
